Mr. Downey received his Master

Louis and is a graduate from the University of Michigan in
Ann Arbor. He has managed numerous business-to-business market

contract manufacturing, semiconductor materials and pharmaceutical
drug discovery. Mr. Downey has written extensively in “Genetic
Engineering News,” “American Pharmaceutical Outsourcing,”

Mr. Downey has presented at biopharmaceutical conferences
in the North America, Europe, and Asia, and has moderated
panel discussions with industry leaders. Mr. Downey has over
25 years of industry experience. He has held various product
marketing positions in the semiconductor materials industry.
In addition, Mr. Downey has provided financial leadership
for both private and public companies.

Sandra J. Fox, Founder
Ms. Fox has a Master of Business
Administration degree from the University of California at
Berkeley, Haas School of Business, and is a Phi Beta Kappa
graduate in the life sciences at UC Berkeley. She has conducted
and managed market research projects for business-to-business
biotechnology, pharmaceutical drug discovery, biopharmaceutical
manufacturing, medical, and electronics products since 1988.
Ms. Fox has written numerous articles for 'Genetic Engineering
News' regarding biomanufacturing and drug discovery technologies,
given presentations on biotechnology and electronics markets
at industry conferences, and helped more than 150 clients
increase sales, fine-tune their business strategies, and make
successful decisions regarding high tech markets.

Jennifer Hartigan, Ph.D., Sr. Scientific Director
received her Ph.D. in biochemistry
from the Sackler School of Biomedical Sciences at Tufts University,
where she studied the acute regulation of adrenal steroidoidogenesis.
Dr. Hartigan has worked in various areas of market research
in the biotechnology field. She has extensive experience in
writing proposals for grants and providing technical analysis
aiding investment decisions. At HighTech Business Decisions,
Jenny has led various market research studies in the areas
of biopharmaceutical contract manufacturing, assay development,

Helen Wang Nicely, PhD, Market Research Analyst
Dr. Helen Wang Nicely received
her Ph.D in cancer immunology from the University of London,
England and holds a B.S. in microbiology from the University
of Surrey, England. She came to California as a Visiting Scientist
with Genentech to study the immunology of rheumatoid arthritis,
and later continued her postdoc work as Lab Manager to the
Forbes Norris ALS/MDA Lab at California Pacific Medical Center.
Dr. Nicely has been co-author of many neuroscience papers
and has written several analytical reports on infectious diseases,
cancer immunotherapies and cancer clinical management. Recently,
she has been involved in conducting market research interviews
with scientists working in the field of high-throughput screening
(HTS) for drug discovery. Dr. Nicely has written reports and
articles on HTS for HTBD and industry trade journals.

Lynne Sopchak, PhD, Market Research Analyst
Dr. Sopchak has a B.S. in Medical Technology and Ph.D. in Immunology and Microbiology from Wayne State University School of Medicine. She continued her studies as a postdoctoral fellow at Stanford University in Pathology and Oncology. She has held positions as visiting assistant professor at Mills College and San Francisco State University teaching immunology, microbiology and genetics. Previously, she was editor of the news section of the Journal of Molecular Graphics and Modeling, covering developments in silico drug discovery. Her scientific research has included peptide and protein structure using nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, protease mechanism and molecular modeling. Her education includes post-doctoral work at the University of California, San Francisco, a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Tufts University in Boston, a B.Sc. in Chemistry from Southampton University, Southampton, England and Certificates in Marketing and Finance from the University of California, Berkeley extension.

Richard G. Khoury PhD, Market Research Analyst
Dr. Khoury received his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of California, Davis and previously obtained his B.S. in Chemistry and a minor in Biology from Santa Clara University. After earning his Ph.D., he completed a post-doctoral fellowship with Nobel Laureate Jean-Marie Lehn at the Universite Louis Pasteur in Strasbourg, France. Michael L. Biros, MBA Market Research Analyst
Michael Biros works with HTBD as a market research analyst in biotechnology and pharmaceutical markets. He is a principal at Celligent, an independent marketing consultancy, which is focused on providing business development, product marketing and market research services to companies developing emerging technologies that accelerate Drug Discovery. Prior to founding Celligent, Mike held positions of increasing responsibility at a range of life science research companies including Molecular Devices, LJL BioSystems, and Dionex. His focus has been strategic marketing and product management for application-driven products that address drug discovery research needs by combining microplate-based instruments, consumables, reagents and software. Since 1999, he has been the Executive Chair of the Laboratory Robotics Interest Group, Bay Area Chapter. He is an active member in the Society for Biomolecular Screening. Mike holds an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and Cellular Biology from U.C. San Diego, and an MBA from the Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University.

Gary W. Ogden, MBA, HighTech Industry Consultant
Mr. Ogden earned a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Chicago with work completed at Stanford University. He also has a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Wisconsin. He was formerly the Director of Marketing for Solectron Corporation (Milpitas, CA), the world's second largest electronics contract manufacturer. He managed strategic planning, market analysis, new account targeting, and the customer satisfaction processes. Solectron won the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award in 1991, and since then, he has given numerous presentations on customer satisfaction to Baldrige-related groups. He was also an examiner for the California Governor's Golden State Quality Award which is identical to the Baldrige Award. Before joining Solectron, Mr. Ogden served in various strategic planning, marketing management, research, new product launch and sales positions with the Hewlett-Packard Company.

Sherman, MBA, Electronics Industry Consultant
Mr. Sherman is
President of New Venture Consulting and has more than 20
years' experience in marketing of high technology electronics
products, as well as a background in design and development
of advanced new products. He has been a founder of two startup
companies and consults with many high-tech start-ups in
addition to assisting various OEM firms in their product
and business development strategies. He has a Bachelor of
Science in Astrophysics, a Masters of Science in Electrical
Engineering from the University of Colorado, and an MBA
from Edinburgh School of Business, Edinburgh, Scotland.
Mr. Sherman now runs New Venture Consulting, focusing on
providing market research, due diligence, and business development
services to clients in the electronic manufacturing services
industry. He works with HighTech Business Decisions on consulting
projects involving high-tech electronics manufacturing.
